Hybrid Brandz delivers innovative, enterprise-grade solutions for the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry and brand managers worldwide.

Hybrid Brandz believes the future of packaging lies at the intersection of creative personalization, powerful technology, and sustainability. That’s why we’re especially proud to see two projects developed with our long-standing customer, Diageo, shortlisted as finalists at the Digital Labels & Packaging Awards 2026.

The nominated projects are Project Draper (Baileys Festive Bottle) and Project Cruiser (Johnnie Walker 1 of 1 Cities Edition), which dually showcase how brands can combine digital print technology, intelligent workflow automation, and consumer engagement to create truly differentiated packaging experiences.

Both projects utilized the Hybrid Brandz CLOUDFLOW platform to power automated, variably printed packaging artwork.

Reimagining Packaging Through Personalization

Today’s consumers increasingly expect products that feel more personal, premium, and memorable. For global beverage brands, packaging has become more than simply a container, it is a memorable part of the customer experience.

For the Johnnie Walker 1 of 1 Cities Edition project, digital production methods enabled the creation of highly distinctive bottle variations that transformed packaging into collectible keepsakes. Meanwhile, the Baileys Festive Bottle project explored innovative decoration techniques that move beyond conventional packaging approaches.

Spotlighting Diageo’s Technology Behind the Innovation

A key innovation highlighted within the Baileys Festive Bottle project is the use of an HDF (High Definition Micro Fusion) process applied directly to glass.

Unlike traditional shrink sleeve decoration methods, where labels are printed onto plastic sleeves and then applied to bottles, this approach transfers only the ink directly onto the glass surface.

The result is a bottle decoration that is effectively ‘plastic free,’ while the carrier film used during the process can be recycled in a closed-loop system at the printer.

This represents an exciting step forward in exploring more sustainable approaches to premium packaging decoration.

Hybrid Brandz’ Role

The technology behind the scenes was Hybrid Brandz CLOUDFLOW platform for:

  • Setup of an intelligent, automated workflow
  • Variable data printing of the personalized artwork

We’re proud to support Diageo as the team continues exploring new ways to combine premium consumer experiences with innovative production technologies.
